WWOOF® links visitors with organic farmers, promotes an educational and cultural exchange and builds a global community conscious of ecological farming practices. Visitors (or “WWOOFers”) participate in the daily life of hosts while receiving educational opportunities, meals and accommodation during their visit, with no money exchanged between hosts and WWOOFers. WWOOFers learn to grow their own food, help on the farm, and experience a new culture.
At WWOOF, they are committed to providing people from around the world the opportunity to:

Off-grid home in Tasmania, 50 mins Sth of Hobart
Located 12km from Huonville, south of Hobart, the Reserve is a loose collection of over 50 private titles and contiguous public lands. The reserve had its beginning at their tranquil rainforest property featuring a pole frame off grid home with dry compost toilets. The private habitat reserve is under a protection of multiple conservation covenants and is 14 square kilometers of both private (around 40 title holders) and public land protected by all stakeholders. Michael and Paul proudly hold the Conservation Covenant #1 in Tasmania, protecting the land in perpetuity – a permanent habitat reserve for the wildlife and plants and grasses.
In recent years they moved their focus to their ‘retirement property’ which is smaller and easier to maintain, located on the north side of the Reserve. The WWOOFing tasks involve gardening, path building, collecting firewood, landscaping, bushfire protection, habitat restoration and maintenance.

Tiny Permaculture community Malaysia
In 2015, they started a guesthouse and embraced a self-sufficient lifestyle. Through WWOOF, they welcomed volunteers, deepened our connection with nature, and became more aware of environmental issues like climate change, soil erosion, and species extinction.
This inspired them to focus on environmental education and build a like-minded community. In 2019, we launched a community project, but COVID-19 forced us to pause. We resumed in 2023, and from 2025 onwards, most of our WWOOF volunteer efforts will be dedicated to this project.
Their 1,400 sqm community space features a mini food forest, an ecological pond, a spice garden, a vegetable greenhouse, a workshop area, volunteer dormitories, a seedling zone, a tool storage area, rainwater collection facilities, and a café.
Their goal is to show how a small piece of land can produce diverse, high-quality food while supporting biodiversity.

Horse and cow ranch Argentina
Hello, my name is Rafael. I am 52 years old and own a property spanning over 15,000 hectares. I am involved in livestock farming in the Laguna Llancanelo area, Malargüe, Mendoza, Argentina.
I also manage an equine reserve with more than 400 horses roaming freely, and I look after over 1,000 cattle. Our activities include horse taming and cattle breeding.
After breakfast we start with the tasks of each day, which are usually moving cows with horses, repairing fences, visiting cattle pastures, taming wild horses, etc. We also cook, clean and garden the place.
I tame horses, took care of more than 1000 cows, more than 400 horses and more than 200 donkeys. I also like to do yoga and meditate. I receive and attend tourists who do photographic safaris with wild horses and bird watching, more than 170 species surround our house. Cow herding is also an available experience.
